Relationship Manager; Commercial (1 Position(s)) Job Location :Central Zone
Responsibilities or duties
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing commercial and prospective clients through regular engagement and effective communication.
Identify client financial needs and deliver tailored banking solutions, including lending, investment, and transactional services.
Drive growth of asset book and deposits by sourcing new clients, developing pipelines, and maximizing cross-selling opportunities.
Appraise credit applications and provide sound recommendations in line with risk policies and guidelines.
Structure appropriate financial solutions that balance risk management with optimal pricing and commercial viability.
Develop and manage a high-quality asset and liability portfolio to ensure profitability, sustainability, and acceptable risk levels.
Monitor portfolio performance (including PAR and NPL) and take proactive measures to maintain asset quality.
Guide and support Relationship Officers, Relationship Managers and Branch Managers in portfolio growth, client management, and deposit mobilization.
Build team capacity through continuous coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to enhance performance and credit quality.
Monitor market trends and competitor offerings to enhance product positioning and drive business growth strategies.
Develop, track, and manage budgets, sales targets, and business pipelines to ensure timely achievement of objectives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and collaborate with stakeholders (credit, risk, operations, legal) while upholding high ethical standards.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Business understanding of bank’s customer base, market segments, products & services, knowledge of government policies relating to banking, BOT regulations, bank policies & procedures
Good Credit analysis skills.
Good customer relationship and sound understanding of bank’s loan products, policies, and procedures.
Proficient in standard computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
Strong communication skills with high proficiency in both English and Kiswahili.
Solid business management, leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
Strong sales and negotiation skills, with clear communication, analytical, and reporting abilities.
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience needed
Bachelor’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing Statistics, Research or related fields.
Postgraduate education in Business studies /Banking/ Banking certification(s) is an added advantage.
Experience in credit assessment and management.
At least 4 years’ experience in Business Banking /Relationship Management in Emerging Corporates/ Commercial.
