Role notes
The role is responsible for driving sustainable growth of the bank’s agribusiness portfolio by marketing products, initiating and managing Agri Credit facilities, and assessing credit applications in line with the bank’s credit policy.
Key duties include:
- Preparing action plans to achieve budget objectives.
- Reviewing and advising the bank on pricing policy for Agri-loan products and solutions.
- Monitoring and supervising Agri-loans to ensure portfolio quality.
- Preparing Agri-loan portfolio reports.
- Developing and reviewing strategies for marketing Agri products and solutions.
- Appraising Agri-loan products and forwarding recommendations.
- Reviewing credit appraisals before submission to Credit Department.
- Supporting branches and zones in budget preparation.
- Training and coaching Agri Assistant Relationship Managers.
- Creating awareness across branches on Agri Wholesale business matters.
Knowledge and skills:
- Sound knowledge of agribusiness economics, sector dynamics, and related laws.
- Knowledge of agribusiness products and services across agricultural value chains.
- Understanding of banking loan products, policies, and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations and financial markets in Tanzania.
- Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Excellent communication, numerical, analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and/or Agricultural Economics, Banking, Business Administration, Finance, or related fields.
- Master’s degree in business studies is an added advantage.
- Postgraduate education in Banking and/or Banking certification(s) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years’ banking experience in managing Agri-related portfolio, credit assessment, and/or project appraisal.
