We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Patient Care Team. The RN will provide compassionate pre- and post-operative care to pediatric patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of treatment and support. This role requires a confident nurse with strong clinical skills, excellent teamwork, and a passion for working with children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform initial assessments for pediatric patients.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Therapeutic Care Plans for each patient.
  • Manage patient medications in line with treatment plans.
  • Attend medical and surgical clinics; liaise with doctors to advocate for the best care.
  • Participate in daily and weekly patient rounds, providing wellness updates and care plan reviews.
  • Perform pre- and post-operative wound care.
  • Demonstrate patient advocacy in high quality, holistic, clinical care.
  • Educate patients and families about treatments and ongoing care.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and operate sterilization equipment to hospital standards.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation in our Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Supervise, teach, and mentor students and volunteers (local and international).
  • Engage in community activities, including patient screening, advocacy, and disability awareness programs.
  • Participate in our ongoing education programme and Continuing Professional Development, sharing knowledge and skills with other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Valid registration with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pediatric or surgical nursing.
  • Strong assessment, planning, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to child-centered care.
