Reporting Structure

Report To: Head of operations

Interacts With: Quality Engineers, Quality Supervisors, Laboratory Technicians, Quality Inspectors

Job Requirements

Job Level: Senior Level

Gender: Both

Experience: 8 Years

Main Duties

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Establish annual quality objectives, KPIs, and improvement plans.
  • Foster a culture of quality ownership across all departments.
  • Ensure all raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products comply with approved specifications.
  • Oversee laboratory testing, inspection processes, and product certification.
  • Lead Quality Improvement Projects using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Root Cause analysis, and other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Drive reduction of defects, customer complaints, rework, scrap, and process variation.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints and warranty claims.
  • Develop supplier quality standards and performance evaluation criteria.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and assessments.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive supplier quality improvements.
  • Identify quality risks throughout manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Develop mitigation plans to minimize operational and customer risks.

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering,Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
  • Lead Auditor Certification (ISO 9001).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is highly desirable.
  • Professional Quality certifications (CQE, CQA, ASQ or equivalent) are an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years' progressive experience in Quality Management within a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Experience in steel manufacturing, roofing products, coated steel, roll forming, or heavy manufacturing is highly preferred.
