Job Purpose:

Responsible for leading and overseeing the implementation of data management initiatives within the Bank which aim to address gaps in reaching the required data governance maturity levels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, and multiple vendors / suppliers, to ensure successful program and projects implementation.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops with the objective of determining and implementing program and projects objectives, scope, approach, organization, controls, and governance framework.
  • Develop program and projects plans with a comprehensive list of all envisaged activities, milestones, deliverables, and their corresponding ownership.
  • Facilitate definition and approval of business requirements, development and approval of the business case.
  • Estimate allocation and motivation of resources, budget and participants required to achieve the program and projects goals.
  • Structure the program into logical projects, work streams, assign and track ownership to relevant departments.
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on program/projects status and gather feedback.
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor their performance to ensure they meet program/projects requirements.
  • Work with cybersecurity teams to ensure the security of digital solutions delivered and customer data.
  • Establish relevant governance and communication structures for all designated programs and projects.
  • Serve diligently as secretary of the program/projects working committees (PWC) and the program/project steering committees (PSC).
  • Manage program/projects risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions by ensuring early identification, and clear ownership of risk events with timely escalation to appropriate level of management where necessary.
  • Manage changes to program/projects scope, budget, timelines, and acceptance criteria in line with the agreed process.
  • Facilitate development of the testing strategy and plan
  • Oversee the execution of system integration and user acceptance testing
  • Facilitate closure workshops for each program/ projects and ensure lessons learned are identified and used to improve future practices.
  • Ensure an effective maintenance and support model is established and handed over to those responsible for its operation.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of banking processes and business process re-engineering.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in banking and digital solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Excellent interpersonal; report writing and presentation skills.
  • A proven self-starter with ability to work under high pressure environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • PMI PMP® Certification.
  • Certification in other recognized project management, agile frameworks and business analysis methodologies e.g., AgilePM; PGMP; PRINCE2; CBAP, Scrum, etc. is an added advantage.
  • Certification in a data management framework (e.g., DAMA International®), data science, or data analytics is an added advantage.
  • Possess a strong background in project management and business analysis, with proven practical experience in a dynamic, large corporate environment.
  • At least 4 years of work expertise in managing significant projects, portfolios, and programs, with leadership experience in medium to large organizations.
