Responsibilities
The Performing Arts Teacher will be responsible for leading the school’s performing arts programme, coordinating clubs, delivering Cambridge Primary and Secondary performing arts lessons, directing theatrical productions, and supporting learners’ artistic and personal development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing the school’s performing arts vision and strategic plan.
- Coordinating and overseeing all school clubs to promote creativity, confidence, teamwork, and collaboration among learners.
- Planning and delivering engaging Cambridge Primary and Secondary performing arts lessons aligned with relevant curriculum stages.
- Teaching drama, theatre, stagecraft, and related performing arts subjects using interactive and learner-centered approaches.
- Directing and producing school plays, performances, theatrical productions, and stage presentations.
- Managing all aspects of school productions including rehearsals, staging, performance coordination, and student preparation.
- Designing learner assessments, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback to support artistic growth and academic development.
- Encouraging student participation in performing arts activities, competitions, and school events.
- Collaborating with other teachers and school leadership to strengthen co-curricular and enrichment programmes.
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all learners.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Theatre Arts, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Proven experience teaching Cambridge curriculum at primary or secondary school level.
- Experience directing school plays, theatrical productions, and performing arts events.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire creativity, confidence, and teamwork among students.
- Experience in choreography, music, stage production, or creative arts coordination will be an added advantage.
- Good organizational and leadership abilities.
