Ophthalmologist (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat eye diseases, injuries, and disorders.
  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform medical and surgical procedures related to eye care within the scope of practice.
  • Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and treatment plans.
  • Manage emergency ophthalmic cases.
  • Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
  • Participate in continuous medical education and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
  • Possess a Master's Degree (MMed) in Ophthalmology or an equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
  • Be fully registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
  • Hold a valid practicing license issued by the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
  • Have at least two (2) years of relevant experience as an Ophthalmologist.

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
