Mkulazi Holding Company Limited (MHCL) is inviting qualified and experienced Tanzanians to apply for the position of Operator – Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor – Effluent Treatment Plant and will be responsible for supporting the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the effluent treatment processes to ensure compliance with environmental and operational standards.

The role requires practical knowledge in water treatment processes, sampling, laboratory testing, and plant operation to ensure effective wastewater management. The selected candidate will ensure that the effluent treatment plant operates efficiently, safely, and in accordance with environmental regulations and company procedures.

Responsibilities or duties

• Collecting water samples from designated sampling points
• Analyzing water quality parameters and recording results
• Ensuring the effluent treatment plant operates according to required standards
• Maintaining cleanliness of the control room and surrounding plant area
• Monitoring and ensuring proper functioning of chemical dosing pumps
• Adhering to occupational health, safety, and environmental standards
• Monitoring chemical stock levels and reporting shortages to the foreman
• Checking automation systems and reporting any malfunctions immediately
• Conducting routine cleaning and maintenance of the plant as per manufacturer instructions
• Supporting general plant operations and maintenance activities
• Performing any other lawful duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications or requirements 

• Diploma in Water Quality, Laboratory Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution
• Good understanding of water quality analysis and laboratory procedures
• Ability to operate and monitor effluent treatment plant systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to environmental safety standards
• Basic knowledge of chemical handling and dosing systems
• Ability to work in industrial environments under supervision

Experience needed

Minimum of two (2) years working experience in water treatment, effluent management, or a related field
