The lodge is now seeking a dedicated, experienced, and visionary Lodge Manager to join its team and lead the daily operations of this exclusive lodge.

Key responsibilities

The Lodge Manager will be responsible for overseeing lodge operations and ensuring excellent service delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the smooth and efficient daily operations of the lodge, ensuring the highest standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction.
  • Leading, managing, and developing a diverse team of hospitality professionals while fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Ensuring all departments, including housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, and guest services, operate in harmony and according to required standards.
  • Delivering an exceptional guest experience through personalized service and attention to detail.
  • Managing lodge finances, including budgeting, cost control, stock management, and reporting.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources on recruitment, staff training, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Maintaining operational infrastructure by ensuring facilities, equipment, and grounds are well-kept and properly maintained.
  • Enforcing compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and local laws.
  • Contributing to and implementing long-term strategic plans, business development initiatives, and sustainability practices.
  • Representing the lodge in interactions with partners, stakeholders, and guests while upholding the lodge’s brand and values.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in a luxury lodge or 5-star hotel, preferably in a luxury safari or wilderness lodge setting.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, reporting, and stock control.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Deep knowledge of food and beverage service and hospitality industry standards.
  • High attention to detail with a hands-on and proactive management style.
  • Passion for eco-tourism, wildlife, and delivering unique safari experiences.
