IS INFRASTRUCTURE ADMINISTRATOR
Alliance One Tobacco Tanzania Ltd is a subsidiary of a trusted provider of responsibly sourced, independently verified, sustainable and traceable agricultural products and ingredients, operating in Tanzania servicing the needs of its shareholders and their customers. A career opportunity has arisen in our organization for the position of IS Infrastructure Administrator.
Job Purpose:
To provide general IS service as first line of support, training, maintain up to date IS hardware and software inventory, and making sure the IS environment support systems are available.
Key responsibilities include: –
- Administer, secure, and maintain the organisation’s IS infrastructure, including servers, networks, end-user devices, and peripherals
- Design, support, and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and structured cabling (copper and fibre) infrastructure
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 IS support, managing incidents, service requests, escalations, and SLAs in line with ITIL best practices
- Monitor system performance, network availability, storage capacity, backups, antivirus, and patching, recommending upgrades where required
- Maintain and manage accurate IS Infrastructure asset inventory and oversee lifecycle management, including replacements and disposals
- Oversee and ensure data backups, disaster recovery processes, and ensure incident response procedures are in place, documented, tested, and maintained.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, including planning, implementation, documentation, improvement, and reporting initiatives.
- Maintain and update local SOPs, infrastructure diagrams, audit documentation, and change management records
- Administer Active Directory, user accounts, email services, access rights, and identity management
- Perform incident, problem, and change management, ensuring proper documentation and controlled deployments
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, ISPs, and service providers as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent hands-on networking experience; Cisco Meraki CMNA highly desirable
- Microsoft certifications in Windows Server, Azure, or Endpoint Management (MD-102, AZ-104 preferred)
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in infrastructure support, including servers, networks, endpoints, and backups
- Strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring practices
- Proven experience administering Cisco Meraki networks, Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft Intune
- Should have knowledge of ITIL, Software licensing and M365 ecosystem
