Position Description
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Fitter Technician to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the Scamont pumps, Warman pumps, mono-pumps, conveyor belts, and rock breakers;
- Control the PH by operating the lime dosing system safely in accordance with Bulyanhulu procedures;
- Efficiently and effectively perform mechanical maintenance activities in accordance with regulations as required by the shaft maintenance controls and to ensure compliance at all times; ammonia plant
- Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
- Follow up with mining construction, operation, electrical, and engineering teams on ventilation-related tasks.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as you may be required by the Technical Services Department from time to time
- Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
- Constructing structural components from raw materials.
- Using welding equipment to fuse structural components.
- Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.
- Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed.
- Creating a suitable maintenance schedule and performing system maintenance accordingly.
- Conducting diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction.
- Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License with defensive driving skills
- Ordinary secondary education (Form IV)
- Basic knowledge of U/G paste systems, mine rescue, and valid First Aid certificates will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in an underground mining operation
- I must have detailed knowledge and experience in the operation of multiple metal cutting, welding, and fabrication methods.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication in English, both writing and verbal
- Hazard identification and Risk assessment
- Mine health & Safety Act awareness
- Must have a good understanding of underground mining operations and solid safety performance at the personal and professional level
- Must be able to read and understand designed paste line and equipment plans, detailed engineered prints, and layouts
