Surgical: Perform routine and complex extractions (including impacted third molars), alveoloplasty, and apicoectomies.

Endodontics: Perform root canal therapy on anterior, premolar, and molar teeth using rotary instrumentation and obturation techniques.

Periodontics: Perform scaling and root planing, gingivectomies, and placement of periodontal dressings.

Prosthodontics: Design and seat full and partial dentures, as well as implant-retained overdentures.

4. Emergency & Urgent Care

  • Triage and manage dental emergencies, including acute infections, traumatic avulsions, fractures, and severe hemorrhage.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic regimens (antibiotics, analgesics, and corticosteroids) to manage postoperative pain and infection.

5. Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise Dental Hygienists, Dental Therapists, and Dental Assistants, ensuring all delegated tasks are performed within legal scope.
  • Serve as the final clinical authority for treatment quality and protocol adherence.
  • Mentor junior clinical staff and dental students (if applicable).

6. Administrative & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, legible, and timely patient records in compliance with HIPAA/PHIPA and medico-legal standards.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and operatory areas meet OSHA/CDC sterilization and infection control standards.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.

Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.

Licensure: Active, unrestricted state/provincial dental license. DEA registration for controlled substances.

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of clinical experience preferred; recent graduates with strong clinical rotations considered.
