Experienced senior administrators needed to serve and teach at an international Christian school
Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) is a faith-based educational institution owned and operated by Haven of Peace Trust. HOPAC was founded in 1994 for children of missionaries and has evolved into a Christian international school with a diverse student population that includes children of missionaries and full-time Christian service workers, children of expats working in the non-profit and for-profit sectors, and children of Tanzanians working in the non-profit, for-profit, and public sectors.
The school is located in Kunduchi at the junction of Salasala Road and Bagamoyo Road in Kinondoni Municipal in Dar es Salaam and is currently inviting applications for vacancies of competent, experienced, and qualified teachers and school personnel.
HOPAC follows the Cambridge curriculum and is an ACSI/MSA accredited school.

The visionary and Christ-centered director reports directly to the Board of Governors, the Director serves as the administrative and academic head of the school, providing strategic leadership to advance HOPAC’s mission of equipping students to live Christ-centered lives through excellence in Christian education.
Senior School Principal (Grade 9–12)
The dynamic and committed Christian Senior School Principal reports to the Director and serves on the School Management Team, the successful candidate will provide leadership for Grades 9-12, overseeing academic excellence, student development, staff leadership, and the day-to-day operations of the Senior School.
Middle School Principal (Grades 6–8)
Middle School Principal is to provide visionary leadership for Grades 6-8. Reporting to the Director and serving as a member of the School Management Team, the successful candidate will oversee the academic, spiritual, and pastoral development of students while leading a dedicated team of educators.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to Christian education, and a passion for nurturing students and staff in a dynamic international school environment.
Responsibilities or duties
Key responsibilities include:
Director:
- Providing spiritual, academic, administrative, and strategic leadership across all areas of the school.
- Ensuring the integration of a biblical worldview throughout the school’s programs, culture, and community.
- Leading and developing administrators, teachers, and staff to achieve excellence in teaching and learning.
- Overseeing school operations, budgeting, legal compliance, facilities, and strategic planning.
- Guiding accreditation efforts, school improvement initiatives, and long-term development plans.
- Building strong relationships with parents, churches, government agencies, educational institutions, and the wider community.
- Leading fundraising and development initiatives to support the school’s growth and sustainability.
Senior School Principal (Grade 9–12):
- Providing instructional leadership and overseeing curriculum implementation, student achievement, and assessment practices.
- Fostering a Christ-centered school culture that reflects HOPAC’s mission, vision, and values.
- Supporting the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students.
- Leading and developing teaching staff while promoting professional excellence.
- Building strong partnerships with parents and the wider school community.
- Overseeing admissions, student transitions, examinations, extracurricular programs, and school operations.
- Managing resources and budgets to ensure effective delivery of the Senior School program
Middle School Principal (Grades 6–8):
- Providing instructional leadership and overseeing academic programs, student achievement, and curriculum implementation.
- Fostering a positive school culture aligned with HOPAC’s mission, vision, and Christian values.
- Supporting student well-being, discipline, and holistic development.
- Building strong partnerships with parents and the wider school community.
- Leading admissions, student transitions, staff development, and middle school operations.
- Managing resources, budgets, and extracurricular programs to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Required qualifications and experience for director:
- Must be cognizant of God’s specific direction toward this position and assured of His faithfulness to them when agreeing to this position.
- Must have spiritual authority and pastoral care arranged through a sending mission agency, local congregation (in Tanzania) and/or a church in the country of origin.
- Must have excellent English oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working in multicultural situations is highly desired.
- Overseas or international administrative experience is preferred.
- At least two years of experience in school administration (K–12) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Primary or Secondary Education from a Western college or university with at least three years of teaching experience, and Master’s degree in Educational Administration preferred
- Ability to demonstrate a thorough and working knowledge of Christian Education preferred.
Required qualifications and experience for Senior School Principal
- Committed Christian in full agreement with HOPAC’s Statement of Faith.
- Bachelor’s degree in Educational Leadership (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of three years’ school leadership experience, preferably in a multicultural setting.
- Ability to lead from a biblical worldview and serve as a strong Christian role model.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge International curriculum is preferred.
