Job Summary:
The Delivery Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and dispatch of goods to customers. This role involves coordinating delivery schedules, loading vehicles, and ensuring paperwork matches physical inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
The Delivery Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and dispatch of goods to customers. This role involves coordinating delivery schedules, loading vehicles, and ensuring paperwork matches physical inventory.
- Verify orders (picking slips/invoices) against items to be shipped.
- Package items securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Load delivery vehicles in an organized and efficient manner.
- Coordinate with drivers to plan optimal delivery routes.
- Obtain proof of delivery signatures and collect payments if required.
- Update inventory systems to reflect dispatched goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in logistics, dispatch, or warehouse operations.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 24
Level of Education: associate degree
