Position Summary
IHI is seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Officer to work on the DYNAMIA Project at the Mapinga clinical trial site in Bagamoyo.
The successful candidate will support recruitment and scheduled visits for study participants, screen study volunteers, complete case report forms, and provide clinical care for medical conditions in accordance with National Standard Treatment Guidelines.

Main Responsibilities
- Attend community sensitization meetings for study volunteers.
- Treat patients according to National Standard Treatment Guidelines.
- Review laboratory results and resolve queries related to collected data.
- Attend internal and external meetings conducted at the facility during the study.
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Contribute to the development of study SOPs and other study documents.
- Conduct participant recruitment and enrollment visits according to the study protocol and SOPs.
- Ensure study protocols, SOPs, and related documents are properly communicated and followed by trial personnel.
- Ensure ethical requirements approved by the relevant review board are followed.
- Supervise study procedures to ensure compliance with the approved protocol, ICH Guidelines, and applicable local regulations.
- Maintain professionalism, accountability, and integrity.
- Build trust and effective communication to improve project outcomes.
- Support study and community engagement coordinators in planning and coordinating study activities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with participating health facilities and community stakeholders.
- Support study sensitization and participant recruitment activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Project Leader.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
- Must be enrolled and permitted to practice as a Clinical Officer by the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
Experience
- At least 1 year of work experience in clinical research.
Skills and Competencies
- Basic digital skills, including Microsoft Office and data management tools.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Good time-management and planning skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Language Requirements
- Fluent spoken and written English and Swahili.
