Chief Steward

Department: Stewarding

Reports To: Executive Chef / Food & Beverage Manager

Job Purpose

Manage and supervise all stewarding operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational support for kitchen and food & beverage outlets.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily stewarding operations.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and service ware are cleaned and sanitized.
• Develop stewarding work schedules.
• Supervise stewarding employees and evaluate performance.
• Monitor cleaning chemical usage and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Coordinate waste management and recycling programs.
• Report equipment maintenance needs.
• Assist with budgeting and cost control.
• Conduct staff training on sanitation and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or Food & Beverage Operations.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in stewarding with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
