Job Summary:

The Car Driver will provide safe and reliable transportation of staff, documents, materials, and other authorized passengers or items within the project area and to approved external destinations. The role will also be responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle in clean, safe, and roadworthy condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport staff and authorized passengers to assigned destinations.
  • Transport documents, small materials, and other approved items when required.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including tyres, fluids, lights, brakes, and general vehicle condition.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure routine servicing is carried out on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate trip, mileage, and fuel records.
  • Report mechanical defects, accidents, damage, or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Follow approved routes, assignments, and transport schedules.
  • Comply with Tanzanian road traffic laws, company procedures, and project safety requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Form Four education or equivalent.
  • Valid Tanzanian driving licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle category.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably within a corporate, agricultural, construction, or project environment.
  • Good knowledge of road traffic laws and safe driving practices.
  • Good knowledge of local and regional road networks.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and routine maintenance.
  • Good communication, punctuality, discipline, and professional conduct.
  • Clean driving record and ability to work flexible hours when operationally required.
