Background
Africa Healthcare Network (AHN) is building the first dialysis chain across East Africa, providing high-quality, life-saving dialysis at an affordable cost to both the local patient population and patients from neighboring countries, which do not have centers of their own. AHN brings world-class technical expertise combined with developing world practical operating experience to a region in dire need of quality dialysis treatment. In North America, over 97% of patients requiring treatment for kidney disease receive care; in East Africa, less than 5% receive care. AHN’s goal is to increase access to high quality care at a lower cost to patients, delivered through a sustainable business model.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the warehouse compound, storage areas, and premises are maintained in a clean, organized, and hygienic condition at all times.
- Receive incoming drugs and medical supplies and verify quantities and conditions against delivery documents.
- Store drugs and medical supplies in designated locations as identified by the inventory management system and storage guidelines.
- Identify, segregate, and appropriately label damaged, deteriorated, expired, or near-expiry items to ensure accurate inventory control.
- Record, report, and escalate any discrepancies, damages, or shortages for corrective action.
- Ensure timely replenishment of stock at picking locations in accordance with established storage and stock rotation procedures (e.g., FIFO/FEFO).
- Coordinate, assemble, and package clinic and warehouse orders accurately for dispatch or shipment.
- Assist in periodic stock counts, audits, and inventory verification activities.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements related to the storage and handling of medical supplies.
- Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Desired Competencies:
- Education: Certificate or Diploma in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement & Supplies, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Previous experience working in a medical, pharmaceutical, or healthcare warehouse will be an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of inventory control, stock management, and medical storage procedures.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and strictly follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Language Proficiency: Good command of English (both written and spoken).
- Passion to work at AHN.
