Vocational Instructor – Design, Sewing & Cloth Technology (DSCT)
Job Description
The Vocational Instructor – Design, Sewing & Cloth Technology will deliver competency-based training in garment construction, fashion design, textile technology, and clothing production while equipping trainees with practical industry skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver theoretical and practical lessons in fashion design, sewing, and garment construction.
- Demonstrate the safe operation of sewing machines and other textile equipment.
- Develop lesson plans and practical training materials.
- Assess trainee performance through practical and theoretical evaluations.
- Supervise practical workshops and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain workshop equipment and training materials.
- Mentor trainees and promote professional work ethics.
Requirements
- Minimum NVA Level 3 in Design, Sewing & Cloth Technology from a VETA institution.
- Vocational Teachers Training Certificate (VTTC).
- At least two (2) years of relevant industry or teaching experience.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in English.
- Strong instructional and communication skills.
