Job Overview
Aga Khan Primary School is seeking a creative, skilled, and passionate Visual Art Teacher to deliver high‑quality art education to students from Grade 1 to Grade 6. The successful candidate will have experience teaching art in an international or English‑medium school and demonstrate strong technical and pedagogical skills in visual and performing arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Visual Art lessons appropriate for primary students (Grades 1–6).
- Teach a variety of art techniques and media, fostering creativity, self‑expression, and skill development.
- Design age‑appropriate art projects aligned with curriculum expectations and international best practices.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports all learners.
- Prepare and display student artwork for exhibitions, school events, and activities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross‑curricular learning.
- Maintain art materials, equipment, and classroom resources responsibly.
- Organizes visual arts exhibition annually
- Creates learning outcomes and use them to write midyear or end of year reports
The requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Visual Art, Fine Art, or Performing Arts (essential).
- Additional qualifications or certifications in art education will be a distinct advantage.
- Formal training and strong technical expertise in teaching visual arts.
Experience and Skills
- 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or English‑medium school.
- Proven experience teaching primary‑level students (Grades 1–6).
- Strong classroom management and age‑appropriate instructional skills.
- Passion for working with children and nurturing creativity.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
