UDA Rapid Transit Plc (UDART) is a company incorporated in Tanzania under the Companies Act 212 R.E 2019 on 19th December 2014 with the certificate of incorporation number 113954. UDART is the Interim Bus Operator Service for phase 1 of the DART system in Dar es Salaam, fetching at an average of 165,000 passengers a day.

UDART is now seeking qualified Transport Officer to serve UDA Rapid Transit Plc Buses.

Job Details

a) Direct Entry

A holder of Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management, Logistic Management or Logistics and Supply Chain Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

b) Duties and Responsibilities

• To perform checks of all vehicles so that they are in good working condition.
• To supervise drivers and ensure that resources are used to maximise productivity.
• To provide a monthly report on individual vehicle driver’s performance for management action.
• To advise on the serviceability of vehicle equipment in use and on the disposal of the equipment deemed unserviceable or beyond economical repair.
• To ensure that all log sheets are accurately maintained for all vehicles.
• To keep electronic vehicle record logs regarding the total distance travelled by the vehicles.
• To maintain vehicle availability by ensuring minimum vehicle downtime.
• To prepare technical reports, statistics and other documents required for vehicle maintenance worth review.
• To prepare and develop Transport Safety guidelines, Driving Manual for Drivers and Internal Repair and Maintenance guidelines for vehicle sustainability and company value for money in repair and maintenance.
• To prepare drivers training proposals consistent with company’s policies.
• To develop performance measures for Drivers to facilitate their performance management.
• To perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisors.

The applicant should be conversant with both Kiswahili and English Language.
