Job Purpose
The Training & Development Officer is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering technical and operational training programs to project staff. The role ensures that employees have the skills, knowledge, and tools required to perform their roles effectively and contribute to overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement training programs for system operations, customer service, safety, and compliance.
- Coordinate onboarding sessions and orientation for new hires.
- Evaluate individual and group training needs across departments.
- Develop training materials, manuals, and digital content as needed.
- Deliver classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training in collaboration with technical teams.
- Assess training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance tracking.
- Maintain records of employee training, certifications, and attendance.
- Support performance management and staff development initiatives.
Education
- Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Certification in training or instructional design is a plus.
- Experience At least 2 years of experience in training, coaching, or learning & development roles.
- Experience developing training programs in technical or customer service environments is preferred.
Must Have
Key Skills & Competencies Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems or training tools.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple training sessions.
- Collaborative and responsive to dynamic workforce needs.
- Performance Metrics Training completion rates and attendance
- Trainee feedback and satisfaction scores Post-training performance improvements Compliance with required certifications and onboarding timelines Quality of training content and delivery methods
