Job Summary:
The Technician Fitter/Balancer is responsible for the removal, fitting, and balancing of tires for passenger cars and light trucks. This role ensures wheels are balanced correctly to prevent vibration and ensure safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove and fit tires onto rims using tire-changing machines.
- Operate computerized wheel balancing equipment to check and correct wheel balance.
- Inspect tires for damage, wear, and proper inflation pressure.
- Mount and demount tires without damaging the rim or tire bead.
- Perform tire rotations and pressure monitoring system (TPMS) resets.
- Maintain tire changing and balancing equipment in good working order.
- Advise customers on tire condition and replacement needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating tire changing and balancing machinery.
- Physical fitness and manual dexterity for handling heavy tires and wheels.
- Knowledge of different tire types and rim sizes.
- Valid driver’s license.
