As part of its continued expansion and technology transformation initiatives, Axian Digibank & Fintech is seeking to recruit a highly experienced professional for the position of Technical Project Manager.
The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for supporting technology delivery, project execution, vendor coordination, and digital financial services transformation programmes across multiple markets. The role requires extensive experience in technology platforms, fintech solutions, mobile money systems, digital banking, telecom operations, core wallet systems, payment platforms, and large-scale transformation projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning, coordinating, monitoring, and delivering assigned technical workstreams within broader transformation programmes.
- Building and maintaining detailed technical project plans for assigned workstreams.
- Integrating technical project plans into the overall programme plan managed by the Programme Director.
- Identifying, documenting, and actively managing dependencies within the assigned workstream and across other workstreams including Product, Compliance, Data, Distribution, Operations, and Customer Care.
- Coordinating Core Wallet delivery teams and third-party vendors on a daily basis.
- Tracking Statement of Work (SOW) deliverables, project milestones, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) adherence.
- Maintaining Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID) logs.
- Driving mitigation actions and ensuring timely resolution of identified issues and risks.
- Planning and coordinating testing cycles in collaboration with Quality Assurance teams, vendors, and business units, including:
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Performance Testing
- Security Testing
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and artefacts including project plans, RAID logs, decision logs, action logs, meeting minutes, and change records.
- Managing resource onboarding, allocation, and offboarding across the workstream, including internal staff, contractors, and vendor resources.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or an equivalent related field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project management or technology delivery management.
- At least three (3) years of experience within Fintech, Mobile Money, Digital Banking, or Telecommunications sectors.
- Hands-on technical delivery experience involving core wallet systems, core banking systems, or payment platforms.
- Proven experience managing technical workstreams within large-scale transformation programmes.
- Experience coordinating Tier-1 vendor delivery teams and third-party system integrators.
- Strong knowledge of delivery methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches.
- Ability to select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies based on project requirements.
- Strong project management, vendor coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with digital financial services platforms and multi-country programme execution environments.
