About The Role
IQVIA is supporting a leading Client Pharma company in recruiting a highly skilled Technical Manager to provide technical expertise across veterinary and diagnostic solutions in Tanzania and the broader NWEA region. This role will focus primarily on ruminants and/or poultry, while also contributing to cross‑species initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in demand generation, market development, correct product use, and technical support to distributors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support for veterinary and diagnostic activities across the assigned market.
- Provide product training to distributors and key accounts, ensuring correct application and supporting commercial growth.
- Drive demand‑generation initiatives and provide technical input to portfolio management.
- Support execution of species‑specific strategies and contribute to cross‑species projects.
- Manage and facilitate training clinics, including train‑the‑trainer programmes, particularly in remote areas.
- Build strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and support diagnostic infrastructure development.
- Offer technical consultancy aligned with diagnostic outcomes and best‑practice recommendations.
- Support veterinarians, authorities, associations, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in pharmacovigilance reporting and team activities as required.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine / BVSc (or equivalent)
- Registered/licensed to practise in Tanzania
- Ongoing professional development
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a veterinary/animal health technical role
- At least 2 years in a commercial environment working closely with Sales and Marketing teams
- Proven experience delivering technical and product training
- Strong understanding of production systems in the local market
- Experience with diagnostic testing is an advantage
Technical Competencies
- Strong veterinary/clinical knowledge in core species
- Ability to provide high‑quality technical consultation and evidence‑based recommendations
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to develop technical content and deliver impactful training
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of pharmacovigilance processes
- Familiarity with diagnostic workflows and result interpretation
Physical & Availability Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within Tanzania
- Occasional international travel
- Ability to conduct on‑site visits, including remote field environments
- Valid passport
