Technical Engineer at Safer Power Company Limited

Position: TECHNICAL ENGINEER

Department: ENGINEERING

Location: DAR ES SALAAM

Reports To: CHIEF OPERATION OFFICER

1. Purpose of the Role

Technical Engineer will collaborate closely with the engineer in the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technical systems and equipment for Safer Power Company Limited, focusing on solar energy solutions.

This role involves ensuring optimal system performance, adherence to industry standards, and providing technical support to clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

System Design and Planning

  • Design and develop solar PV systems tailored to client needs, considering site conditions, capacity requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform technical site assessments and feasibility studies.
  • Create system layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications.

Installation and Maintenance

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar energy systems, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on installed systems.

Technical Support and Training

  • Provide technical guidance to the installation and maintenance teams.
  • Offer training sessions to clients and stakeholders on system usage and best practices.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards, company policies, and local regulations.
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections during and after installation.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, and customer support teams to address technical inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed reports on system performance, project progress, and technical issues.

Innovation and Research

  • Stay updated on the latest solar energy technologies and industry trends.
  • Recommend improvements to current systems and processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable energy or Equivalent, specialization in business marketing and sales experience will be an added advantage.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in solar products and systems
  • Excellent communication in both English and Swahili with interpersonal skills.
  • Persuasive and deal closing skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar energy products and services.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
  • Must have teamwork spirit with low supervision and ability to work fast , independent and proper.
  • Must bear the positive attitude and cooperative mindset
  • Willingness to travel both upcountry as may be, the position is based in Dar es salaam. Travel may be required for client meetings, conferences, and other business-related activities.
