To ensure the stability, integrity, security, and efficient operation of the organization's IT infrastructure by managing servers, networks, desktop environments, and data center operations while supporting business-critical systems, delivering technical support, and driving continuous improvement of IT services.
Responsibilities or duties
- Perform daily administration of servers, including operating system installation, software deployment, patch management, firmware updates, hardware upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, account management, backups, restores, file share permissions, printer configuration, and performance optimization.
- Provide technical support for desktop, server, network, and infrastructure environments across the organization's operations.
- Perform system upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, solution design, and deployment activities.
- Support the administration of virtualization platforms, databases, servers, and enterprise network infrastructure.
- Evaluate operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term corrective solutions.
- Collaborate with ICT teams to ensure reliable operation of business systems and infrastructure.
- Work with management and business stakeholders to identify business requirements, define system objectives, and resolve technology-related issues.
- Design and deploy new applications, software enhancements, and operating system improvements.
- Conduct cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to support technology investment decisions.
- Research software and infrastructure solutions to support procurement activities.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for implementation of IT solutions.
- Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and implement strategies for continual improvement.
- Develop technical documentation including system designs, specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation documentation.
- Provide exceptional IT support to internal users across multiple locations.
- Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved.
- Keep users informed regarding the progress and resolution of IT service requests.
- Identify and implement improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery.
- Support data center draw operations on a rotational basis.
- Monitor draw activities, complete operational checklists, and prepare operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures and statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate communication between operational teams to minimize financial and operational risks.
Qualifications or requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Experience needed
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in IT Server Engineering and Systems Administration.
- At least 2 years' experience in IT Infrastructure Management within Data Center environments.
- At least 2 years' experience in Network Management.
- Professional certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, MCSE, or equivalent are an added advantage.
- Experience within the lottery or gaming industry is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of server administration, networking, virtualization, IT infrastructure, IT security, and IT service management.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT systems.
- Good understanding of systems planning, security principles, and software management best practices.
- Strong project management, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to research, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
