Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, including software, hardware, and networks, to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
System Maintenance & Support:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues promptly.
Network & Security Management:
- Administer and maintain network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, routers).
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures (antivirus, intrusion detection, access controls).
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
Data & Backup Management:
- Manage data storage solutions and ensure data integrity.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
- Oversee backup procedures and verify data restoration processes.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of system configurations, licenses, and warranties.
- Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions.
- Recommend improvements to enhance IT infrastructure efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 3+ years in systems administration or network management.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Windows Server.
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+.
- Cisco CCNA / CCNP.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux server environments.
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
