Background

Shafa Agro is hiring an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and strengthen its procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution operations in Tanzania.

This position is suitable for an accomplished supply chain professional with strong leadership, commercial negotiation, supplier management, analytical, and compliance capabilities. The successful candidate will join a fast-growing agribusiness team supporting operational excellence across agriculture, milling, dairy, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for:

• Managing procurement, strategic sourcing, and contracts.
• Leading logistics, warehousing, and inventory control activities.
• Coordinating customs clearance, freight, and distribution.
• Managing supplier relationships and vendor performance.
• Overseeing supply chain budgets, reporting, and cost optimisation.
• Leading and developing the supply chain team.
• Supporting efficient movement and availability of materials and products.
• Promoting supply chain compliance and operational discipline.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• Between five and seven years of progressive professional experience.
• At least two years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Tanzania or East Africa work experience, which is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of enterprise resource planning or inventory management systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Fluency in English and Swahili.
