Jaza Energy Inc is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate for the position of Supply Chain Intern based in Dar es Salaam. The organization is looking for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is eager to gain hands-on experience in supply chain operations, including inventory management, procurement, logistics coordination, and data analysis.
The Supply Chain Intern will support day-to-day supply chain activities and contribute to maintaining efficient operational processes across warehouses and logistics functions. The role provides practical exposure to inventory control systems, procurement workflows, and supply chain analytics within a fast-paced operational environment.
Responsibilities or duties
- Monitor inventory movements across warehouses and operational hubs
- Assist with stock counts and stock reconciliation activities
- Verify inventory transactions and identify discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory records in company systems
- Support inventory accuracy and control processes
- Update supply chain trackers and operational reports
- Validate operational data for accuracy and completeness
- Generate routine reports related to inventory, procurement, and logistics
- Support operational data analysis and reporting activities
- Identify trends and areas for operational improvement
- Assist in tracking purchase orders and procurement processes
- Follow up with suppliers regarding deliveries and documentation
- Ensure procurement records are properly maintained and filed
- Support procurement administration activities
- Track inbound and outbound shipments across supply chain networks
- Coordinate deliveries between warehouses and suppliers
- Support documentation for imports, customs clearance, and inventory transfers
- Monitor service levels and operational performance
- Escalate delays and operational issues when necessary
- Identify opportunities for supply chain process improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational enhancements
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics Management, Logistics and Transport Management, Business Administration (Supply Chain option), or related field
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and digital tools
- Familiarity with inventory management, procurement systems, and ERP systems
- Understanding of supply chain, logistics, and warehouse operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Proactive and ownership-driven mindset
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn
