  • Immediately report unexplained student absences to the Secondary Office in line with the school’s safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain a quiet, focused and purposeful academic environment.

  • Guide students in using quiet study areas, individual carrels and small-group collaboration spaces appropriately.

The employer indicates that Study Hall attendance averages 60 students per day, with peak loads of up to 40 students per block.

B. Academic and Student Support

The successful candidate will:

  • Encourage students to use non-class time productively.
  • Prompt students to work on activities such as Extended Essay research, Internal Assessments and academic review.
  • Provide general guidance on organisation and time management without acting as a subject-content tutor.
  • Support approved student sign-out arrangements for meetings with teachers, library study or other authorised locations.
  • Connect students with the appropriate academic or pastoral support.
  • Work with the Secondary Librarian to facilitate access to relevant physical and digital learning resources.

C. Attendance, Data and Reporting

The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain accurate Study Hall attendance and utilisation records.
  • Monitor recurring patterns of non-attendance or lack of focus.
  • Capture common concerns raised by students.
  • Prepare weekly reports for the Secondary Vice Principal and Diploma Programme Coordinator.

  • Assist with logistics for large-scale testing, including International Baccalaureate mock examinations.
  • Provide short-break administrative coverage, including Reception coverage where assigned.
  • Help prepare materials for school events and parent communications.
  • Carry out other appropriate duties assigned by the Secondary School Principal.

4. Essential Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counselling, Administration, Social Sciences or another relevant field.

  • Proficiency in standard office applications.
  • Ability to use, or quickly learn, school management and attendance-tracking systems.
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding children and young people.

  • Experience in an educational, mentoring, student-support or supervisory position.
  • Previous exposure to an International Baccalaureate school environment.
