Fema Mining And Drilling Limited is inviting qualified and hardworking candidates to apply for the position of Service Man – Dewatering (12 Positions) based in Geita. The company is committed to maintaining safe, efficient, and productive mining operations through professional workforce support and effective water management systems within the mining environment.

The Service Man – Dewatering will play an important role in supporting pit dewatering activities through pump installation, pipeline maintenance, equipment servicing, and water management operations. The successful candidates will work closely with mining teams to ensure continuous production and safe pit conditions, especially during rainy and high-production periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installation, relocation, and maintenance of pumps and pipelines
  • Monitor pit water levels and pump performance
  • Inspect hoses, valves, generators, and pump systems
  • Report mechanical faults and operational issues immediately
  • Support fueling, lubrication, and servicing of equipment
  • Maintain proper pit drainage systems
  • Support continuous pumping during rainy and production periods
  • Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain safe and clean work environments
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions
  • Maintain daily operational records
  • Collaborate with operators, mechanics, and mining teams
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification of Form Four Certificate (O-Level)
  • Technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Pump Operations, Mining Operations, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mining operations, dewatering operations, pump servicing, or related technical field
  • Open pit mining experience is an added advantage
  • Basic knowledge of pumps, generators, pipelines, and water management systems
  • Ability to work under pressure in remote mining environments
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical fitness for manual duties
  • Ability to follow safety procedures
  • Fluency in Kiswahili; basic English is an added advantage
