As the Talent Manager, you are a talent alchemist. You are a prodigy in human resources and talent management, preferably with strong experience in talent acquisition, community building, or ecosystem development. Your core mission is simple but ambitious:
Support the best founders with the best people.
Your role is to make co-founders stronger by surrounding them with the right mentors, technical experts, advisors, service providers, and future team members. You will build, curate, and activate a high-quality talent and expert network that directly contributes to venture success
Key Responsibilities:
Founder recruitment & selection
- Manage the full recruitment and selection process to identify high-potential founders for each cohort.
- Support assessment, interviews, and selection processes aligned with the company’s venture-building criteria.
Expert, mentor & advisor network
- Grow and manage the company’s Tanzania community of mentors, experts, and advisors.
- Develop partnerships with venture-building support organisations and individuals across Tanzania and the region.
- Vet, onboard, and support mentors and experts to ensure quality engagement.
Founder–expert matching
- Assess founder and venture needs at different studio stages.
- Lead the matching of founders with relevant mentors, experts, and service providers.
- Support tracking, monitoring, and facilitation of mentor engagement.
Alumni & community management
- Manage and activate company alumni network as food-system changemakers, collaborators, potential hires, partners, or service providers.
Team formation & co-founder matching
- Support co-founder matching and team definition during the Entrepreneur-in-Residence programme and early venture stages.
Internal talent support
- Assist with human resources and talent management for the Rootical Tanzania studio team (recruitment, onboarding, retention).
Reporting & accountability
- Contribute to project monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and accountability.
General studio support
- Contribute beyond your job description where needed.
- Support a small, entrepreneurial team delivering ambitious and time-bound programmes.
Education & Work Experience
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Born and raised in East Africa, with at least 5 years of professional experience working in East Africa
- Educational background in Human Resources, Talent Management, or a related field
