PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To lead and manage daily warehouse operations with focus on efficiency, accuracy, and safety to ensure user satisfaction include overseeing staff, optimizing workflows, maintaining inventory control, ensuring compliance, coordinating with other departments or sections, and improving processes- all while acting as a vital link between staff and management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain management, materials Management or its equivalent.
- Should be registered with Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board – PSPTB.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in Warehouse and Logistics in Mining industry or large-scale industries.
- Experience with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, preferably SAP system.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Effective delegation and workload management.
- Conflict resolution and problem – solving abilities.
- Buildings collaboration and teamwork across departments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Managing processing time on Orders received, timely GRN and timely forwarding of items to Satellite Warehouse.
- Controlling Containers and Demurrage charges (reduce container demurrage / detention costs) by making sure container do not spend more than 7 days at site.
- Expediting Consignment delivery against outstanding purchase orders.
- Manage team members (plan work) lead team, organize the work and labour, control compliance to targets and take corrective actions when targets not achieved.
- Ensuring cost impact in areas of accountability are evaluated, approved and budget is revised.
- Resolving routine equipment issues.
- Ensure that equipment’s are always in good condition and serviceable.
- Ensure that tools for warehouse uses are always in safe condition and are used properly.
- Enforces to the unit an operating instruction on Safety and Environmental policies.
- Controlling Manual Receiving, Staging and Binning of materials at satellite Warehouse.
- Attend/conduct weekly/biweekly meetings with end user departments/internally and on time execution of agreed actions.
- Safety improvements in Warehouses and Environmental control [Comply to HSE Policy & Procedures].
- Devising a safe work performance for a team, stopping any unsafe work, issuing safety related instructions to subordinates and initiating action against team members for his/her role in unsafe behavior.
- Manage returns to stock.
- Generating required reports and statistics daily, weekly and monthly.
- Having knowledge on logistics, expediting, transportation, shipping, receiving and forwarding and traffic management.
- Strategically plan to maintain safe and efficient warehouse receiving and issuing operations.
- An excellent service delivery to customers.
- Mitigating non-conform supplies on the business by identifying substandard deliveries and timely implementing of instructions based on recommendations from Materials Engineering team.
- Supervising and performing accurately Cycle Counting and Annual Stock Take.
