Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
The Senior Partnership and Development Officer drives commercial demand and partner sales for branded irrigation equipment across the Southern Highlands region. Reporting functionally to complement the Country Manager, the role manages donor-funded targets, builds private-sector dealer networks, develops joint partner programs, and leads field marketing initiatives to lift smallholder farming households out of poverty.
Partnership Development & B2B Strategy
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate strategic partnerships with private sector dealers, NGOs, government agencies, and farmer organizations; draft joint programming concept notes.
Dealer Network & Sales Execution
Maintain adequate inventory of irrigation pumps, spare parts, and promotional materials across dealer networks; conduct dealer trainings on product knowledge, stock control, and customer engagement.
Project & Target Management
Ensure all donor-backed project targets and sales milestones in the Southern Highlands are consistently met or exceeded.
Training & Field Marketing
Deliver training modules to partner staff, extension officers, and farmer groups on sustainable irrigation practices; collaborate with marketing and product development teams for new product field tests.
Asset & Performance Oversight
Manage all regional assets, analyze partnership sales trends, oversee regional budget/resources, and represent the organization in regional agricultural forums.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, Business Administration, Marketing, Development Economics, or a related field from a recognized university.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant, hands-on experience in agricultural sales, partnership development, or private-sector dealer network management.
Driving License
Must possess a valid driving license held for at least 3 years.
Core Competencies
- High entrepreneurial drive, self-motivation, and ability to work with minimal direct supervision in fast-paced field environments.
- Proven track record in concept note development and partner model conceptualization.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
Language Requirements
High fluency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
