Senior Hydraulic Fitter
Location: East Africa Region
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Hydraulic Fitter to join our busy rebuild team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing hydraulic systems to our fleet while providing preventative measures for our equipment to ensure optimal availability at the most economic cost. Maintain your Duty of Care to provide a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a fleet of drill rigs and all associated equipment to ensure optimum availability
- Assemble, test, and install hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and motors
- Troubleshoot and fault find hydraulic circuits using pressure gauges and diagnostic tools
- Fabricate and fit hydraulic hoses, pipes, and fittings to technical specifications
- Undertake preventative maintenance as per the preventative maintenance programme
- Inspect and monitor work in progress and ensure quality standards are maintained
- Travel to sites as required to undertake maintenance activities
- Complete job record report sheets for all equipment maintained and ensure compliance
- Complete daily time sheets
- Ensure compliance to safe work policies and procedures and maintain a safe and tidy work environment
- Assist in the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and processes
- Minimise parts wastage through proper effective diagnosis
- Other duties as directed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience preferably in the drilling/exploration industry and working with multipurpose drill rigs
- Must be fit and able to perform the inherent requirements of the job
- Ability and willingness to travel, and work on a roster
- Ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment
