Job Purpose
To plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Science lessons and practical instruction for pupils in Grade 3 - 6 at RiseChamp Pre and Primary School, fostering academic excellence, scientific curiosity, discipline, and holistic pupil development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons for pupils in Grade 3 - 6 aligned with the approved curriculum and timetable.
- Develop pupils' scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and practical skills across primary grades.
- Prepare pupils for assessments and national curriculum expectations in Science.
- Report to school on all working days and be present during official working hours.
- Attend the school general assembly and departmental meetings as required.
- Use relevant teaching methods, learning materials, and technology (including simple experiments/demonstrations) to support pupil progress.
- Assess, record, and report pupil performance accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain classroom discipline in accordance with school rules and pastoral policies.
- Provide constructive feedback to pupils and communicate progress to parents when required.
- Supervise pupils during class hours, transitions, and assigned co-curricular activities.
- Prepare assignments, schemes of work, and lesson plans for assigned classes.
- Participate in parents' meetings, school events, and professional development programmes.
- Collaborate with colleagues, leadership, and support staff to promote pupil welfare.
- Perform any other academic duties assigned by the Head Teacher or School Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Education with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or General Science) or Mathematics as a major subject.
- Minimum 2 years of primary teaching experience (Grades 3–6) teaching Science.
- Candidates who can teach both Science and Mathematics will be highly prioritized (given top priority).
- Strong command of English (as the medium of instruction) and scientific/mathematical concepts at the primary level.
- Effective classroom management and parent communication skills.
- Ability to conduct basic scientific experiments and interactive activities for young learners.
