Responsibilities or duties

The Sales Officer will be responsible for driving sales, increasing bookings, developing new business opportunities, and strengthening the lodge’s presence in both domestic and international tourism markets.

Qualifications or requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience needed

Minimum 3 years of proven experience in hospitality or tourism sales is compulsory. Experience working in remote, upcountry, or out-of-town locations is required.

Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills. Proven ability to work independently and achieve sales targets. Knowledge of safari lodges, tourism trends, and the luxury travel market is an added advantage. Must be comfortable working away from the city and travelling as required. Performance for both positions will be evaluated against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) established by management from time to time. • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase bookings and revenue.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agents, tour operators, corporate clients, and other key partners.
• Identify and develop new sales channels and business opportunities in domestic and international markets.
• Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitors and recommend appropriate strategies.
• Work closely with the marketing team to support sales campaigns and promotional activities.
• Conduct sales presentations, attend tourism and industry events, and professionally represent the lodge.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and provide regular sales reports.
• Respond to guest and client inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Monitor guest reviews and contribute to maintaining a positive reputation for the lodge.
• Contribute to marketing reports, market intelligence, and sales performance analysis.
