To support its continued growth in Tanzania, Prime Technical and Medical Equipment Ltd is seeking a talented, ambitious, and results-driven Sales Representative (Sales Officer) to join its dynamic team in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving business growth, managing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and supporting tender and contract processes while promoting the company’s portfolio of scientific and medical equipment solutions. Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect new customers and business opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Arrange and attend client meetings, presentations, demonstrations, and industry events.
- Promote and sell the company’s products and services in line with organizational objectives.
- Prepare sales forecasts and track potential business opportunities.
- Achieve assigned sales targets, budgets, and performance objectives.
- Prepare and submit quotations and proposals through the company CRM system.
- Conduct follow-up activities on submitted quotations and proposals.
- Negotiate and close sales agreements while safeguarding company interests.
- Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales cycle.
- Provide pre-sales, sales, and after-sales support to customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate support services where required.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain regular communication with key customer accounts.
- Follow up customer orders from confirmation through delivery, invoicing, and payment collection.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Monitor customer issues and work with technical support teams until resolution.
- Track tenders and Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
- Participate in tender preparation, submission, negotiation, and execution processes.
- Ensure company registrations and tender eligibility requirements remain up to date.
- Monitor regulatory changes that may affect company compliance and tender participation.
Qualifications Required
-
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or another related scientific field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a similar sales role within Dar es Salaam.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent sales, marketing, and business development abilities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Scientific or technical educational background.
- Experience in technical sales or scientific equipment sales is an added advantage.
- Strong customer relationship management capabilities.
- Interest in scientific, laboratory, technical, and medical equipment markets.
- Ability to manage sales opportunities from prospecting through contract execution.
- Valid Tanzanian driving licence.
- Must currently reside in Dar es Salaam.
- Willingness and ability to travel to other regions when required.
- Applicants should be between 25 and 40 years of age.
