About the role

The Sales Executive is responsible for driving hotel revenue by developing new business, managing existing accounts, and promoting the hotel’s rooms, food and beverage (F&B), meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), and events. BookSales Coaching

The role focuses on achieving sales targets, building strong relationships with clients and travel trade partners, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring excellent client service.

The Sales Executive will work closely with the Cluster Sales Manager and other hotel departments to maximize revenue and support the hotel’s overall commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

Sales planning and business development

  • Develop and implement sales activities to achieve monthly and annual targets.
  • Identify and secure new business from corporate, government, NGO, diplomatic, leisure, and travel trade markets.
  • Conduct sales calls, client visits, presentations, networking activities, and site inspections.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and rate offers in line with approved hotel policies.
  • Follow up on leads and proposals to maximize conversion.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and identify opportunities for additional and repeat business.

Account management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate and key accounts.
  • Identify key decision-makers and develop account plans for high-potential clients.
  • Monitor account production and identify opportunities to increase room nights and revenue.
  • Maintain accurate and updated client records.

Hotel product and revenue promotion

  • Promote hotel rooms, F&B services, meetings, conferences, weddings, and events.
  • Generate room nights through corporate accounts, travel agents, tour operators, and other business partners.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work with the Cluster Sales Manager and Revenue team to maximize hotel revenue.

MICE and events sales

  • Generate business for meetings, conferences, weddings, banquets, and corporate events.
  • Develop relationships with event planners and organizations.
  • Respond to MICE enquiries and conduct site inspections.
  • Coordinate client requirements with relevant hotel departments.
  • Follow up after events to obtain feedback and encourage repeat business.

Travel trade and market development

  • Develop relationships with tour operators, travel agents, wholesalers, destination management companies (DMCs), and other tourism partners.
  • Identify new opportunities within local and international travel markets.
  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, workshops, and networking events.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends and provide relevant feedback to management.

Client service and departmental coordination

  • Respond promptly to client enquiries and maintain professional relationships.
  • Handle client complaints and coordinate their resolution with relevant departments.
  • Coordinate with Reservations, Front Office, F&B, Banqueting, Finance, and Operations to ensure client requirements are delivered.
  • Communicate confirmed business and special arrangements to the relevant departments.

Sales administration and reporting

  • Maintain an updated sales database and records of clients, leads, and opportunities.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and forecasts.
  • Monitor performance against sales targets and update management on business opportunities.
  • Attend sales meetings and provide updates on sales performance.

Marketing, compliance, and financial coordination

  • Support hotel promotional, networking, and marketing activities.
  • Provide feedback on customer preferences and market opportunities.
  • Ensure rates, contracts, and commercial offers comply with approved policies.
  • Coordinate with Finance on corporate accounts, credit facilities, and outstanding payments.
  • Ensure sales activities contribute to hotel revenue and profitability.

Qualifications and experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of proven sales experience, preferably within a hotel, resort, tourism, or travel environment.
  • Experience in hotel corporate sales, MICE, travel trade, and hospitality sales is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Experience with corporate contracting and account management is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of hotel products, services, and revenue-generating opportunities.
