Background
The Elewana Collection is seeking a dynamic, professional, and service-oriented candidate to fill the position of Restaurant Maître D at Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge in Arusha. The organization is known for delivering exceptional luxury hospitality experiences and is looking for an experienced individual capable of maintaining high Food and Beverage service standards across its hospitality operations.
The Restaurant Maître D will be responsible for supervising restaurant, bar, coffee shop, and event operations while ensuring outstanding guest experiences and smooth daily operations. The successful candidate will lead service teams, coordinate VIP engagements, support revenue growth initiatives, and maintain excellence in hospitality service delivery within a luxury lodge environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily restaurant, bar, coffee shop, and event operations
- Ensure exceptional guest service and personalized experiences for VIP and repeat guests
- Coordinate service teams for smooth operational flow
- Lead, train, and mentor restaurant and bar staff
- Conduct service briefings, coaching, and on-the-job training
- Drive upselling and revenue generation opportunities within F&B outlets
- Participate in stock takes, cost control, and operational planning
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and ambiance
- Support excellence in wine, coffee, and beverage service
- Coordinate and oversee MICE functions and special events
- Monitor service quality and customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with hospitality standards and operational procedures
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior restaurant or F&B supervisory role
- Experience in luxury hospitality or fine dining establishments is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, wines, coffee, and beverage service standards
- Proven leadership and team management ability
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation standards
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Cost awareness and resource optimization abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Integrity, accountability, and professionalism
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
