DCB Commercial Bank Plc is inviting applications for the position of Relationship Officer, Business Banking based in Dar es Salaam. The bank is a fully-fledged retail and commercial financial institution serving individuals, microfinance clients, SMEs, and large corporate customers through an extensive network of branches, agents, and ATMs across Tanzania. This role is designed for a results-oriented banking professional who can drive business growth, expand the bank’s customer base, and maintain a high-quality loan portfolio while delivering exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the Business Banking portfolio by mobilizing deposits, acquiring new customers, increasing lending activities, and promoting the bank’s products and services. The position also requires maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, and contributing to the achievement of the bank’s strategic business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Grow the business banking loan portfolio through quality lending and achievement of loan disbursement targets.
- Mobilize deposits by acquiring new customers and strengthening relationships with existing clients.
- Drive Non-Funded Income (NFI) growth through cross-selling banking products and fee-based services.
- Acquire and onboard New-to-Bank (NTB) customers through prospecting and sales activities.
- Maintain a high-quality loan portfolio through effective credit monitoring and proactive risk management.
- Conduct customer visits and follow up on repayments to ensure portfolio quality.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers and Branch Managers to increase business volume and customer profitability.
- Develop and maintain customer pipelines while identifying new business opportunities.
- Recommend suitable financial solutions that meet customer needs.
- Ensure compliance with KYC, AML, credit policies, and internal banking procedures.
- Conduct pre-disbursement and post-disbursement customer visits to assess business performance and repayment capacity.
- Participate in sales campaigns, marketing initiatives, presentations, and customer engagement activities.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and client relationship management within a financial institution.
- Good understanding of the business banking environment and banking practices in Dar es Salaam.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
