To acquire, grow, and retain corporate client relationships by offering structured trade finance solutions: letters of credit (LCs), bank guarantees, supply chain finance, factoring, and export-import financing. The RM works with internal product, credit, and operations teams to deliver seamless trade execution.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and prospect mid-cap and large corporates engaged in international/domestic trade.
- Cross-sell trade products to existing commercial banking clients (e.g., LC, BG, open account solutions).
- Achieve revenue targets (fee income, interest income) and portfolio growth goals.
Client Advisory & Structuring
- Understand client’s trade cycle, supply chain, and counterparty risks.
- Structure trade solutions (e.g., usance LC with bill discounting, pre-shipment finance).
- Negotiate terms (LC tenor, margin requirements, fees) within delegated authority.
Credit & Risk Coordination
- Prepare credit proposals for trade limits (e.g., LC issuance, BG, buyer finance).
- Coordinate with Risk and Legal on transaction documents (UCP 600, URDG 758).
- Monitor client exposure, collateral, and shipment compliance.
Transaction Execution & Service
- Ensure timely issuance, amendment, and settlement of trade instruments.
- Liaise with Trade Operations for document scrutiny and discrepancy management.
- Resolve trade disputes, customs/port issues, and payment delays.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to ICC rules, sanctions, and AML/KYC for trade transactions.
- Keep updated on regulatory changes (e.g., RBI FED Master Directions, BAFT guidelines).
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Economics. MBA or CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) preferred.
- Experience: 5–8 years in trade finance sales or relationship management in a corporate bank.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of UCP 600, ISP98, URDG 758, supply chain finance platforms (e.g., Bolero, TradeIX), and basic credit risk analysis.
