Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive, and holistic nursing care to patients. This role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary medical team. The RN ensures adherence to clinical protocols, infection control standards, and patient safety guidelines while providing leadership and supervision to junior nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments (vital signs, history taking) and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Medication Management: Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitoring for side effects and efficacy.
- Wound Care: Perform complex wound care, dressing changes, and management of surgical drains.
- Emergency Response: Recognize and respond to deteriorating patient conditions; initiate emergency protocols (e.g., CPR, ACLS) as required.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, medication regimens, and discharge planning to promote wellness and self-care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic or paper medical records (patient notes, medication charts, observation charts).
- Coordination: Coordinate patient care with physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless treatment.
- Supervision: Supervise and mentor Enrolled Nurses, Medical Attendants, and student nurses on shift.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in clinical audits, infection control committees, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the availability and functionality of medical equipment and emergency trolleys.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Diploma in Registered Nursing.
- Licensure: Valid and current practicing license from the relevant Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is an advantage.

- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of empathy, patience, and emotional resilience.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
