Asilia is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Regional Trade & Partnerships Manager to lead trade engagement and drive new business opportunities across East Africa. This mid-level role, based in Kenya or Tanzania, is for a professional with a deep understanding of the African travel industry. The successful candidate will manage Asilia’s network of East African-based travel agents, tour operators, and DMCs. The role also involves expanding partnerships to include hotels, NGOs, corporate clients, and embassies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trade Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for East Africa-based travel agents, tour operators, and DMCs. This includes understanding their needs, managing onboarding and training, and monitoring their performance.
  • New Channel Development: Identify and secure new business from non-traditional partners like hotels, NGOs, corporate travel departments, and government/embassy units. The manager will also represent the brand at local industry events to increase visibility.
  • Strategy & Reporting: Contribute insights on the East African trade landscape to the regional commercial strategy. The role also involves tracking partnership performance, commercial trends, and competitive insights.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Provide input for product innovation and service improvements, manage individual travel and sales budgets, and support internal knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: A minimum of five years of professional experience in the African travel industry, preferably in a commercial, sales, or partnership management role. Candidates should have a strong network in the East African travel trade landscape and a proven track record of managing B2B accounts.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is required, along with the ability to use CRM platforms and business intelligence tools like Power BI.
  • Personal Attributes: High integrity, passion for conservation-driven travel, and a self-starting mentality
