Job Summary

The Recreation Manager is responsible for overseeing all recreational facilities and activities within the property. This includes managing the swimming pools, gym, kids' club, and organized sports/entertainment. The primary goal is to ensure guests have an exceptional and safe leisure experience while maximizing revenue opportunities through upsells and retail.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Supervise daily operations of the recreation department, including pool safety, gym cleanliness, and activity scheduling.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and schedule recreation staff, lifeguards, and activity coordinators. Conduct performance reviews.
• Guest Engagement: Develop and implement a weekly calendar of activities for adults and children. Ensure high levels of guest participation.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols, pool hygiene standards, and emergency procedures. Ensure all equipment is maintained and certified.
• Budgeting: Manage the department budget, control costs, and drive revenue through equipment rentals, fitness classes, and retail sales.
• Maintenance: Liaise with Engineering to ensure all equipment (gym machines, pool pumps) is in working order.
• Inventory: Manage inventory of towels, guest amenities, and retail stock.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a luxury resort or leisure environment.
• Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certifications (required).
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
