Position Overview:

The Radiographer is a cornerstone of the diagnostic department at London Health Care Centre. This role is designed for a technical expert who understands the delicate balance between capturing high-quality diagnostic images and maintaining strict radiation safety standards.

The Role and Its Impact

A Radiographer does not just “take pictures”; they are the primary operators of complex ionizing radiation equipment. Their work allows physicians to see inside the human body to identify fractures, tumors, or internal anomalies. In the context of Dar es Salaam’s fast-paced medical environment, the ability to produce clear images quickly can be the difference between a routine recovery and a medical emergency.

Key Qualifications and Competencies

Technical Mastery: Proven ability to operate X-ray equipment. Candidates who have experience with CT (Computed Tomography) or Ultrasound will be given preference, as multi-modality skills are highly valued in private clinics.

Compliance and Safety: Deep knowledge of TAEC (Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission) standards is mandatory. This includes the proper use of lead aprons, dosimeters, and shielding protocols to protect both the patient and the healthcare team.

Clinical Collaboration: The ability to report findings clearly to physicians while maintaining a supportive, empathetic demeanor with patients who may be in pain or distress.
