Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all materials, workmanship, and final installations meet the project specifications, approved drawings, and industry standards. This role involves rigorous testing, documentation, and coordination with contractors to rectify defects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Inspection: Inspect incoming materials, equipment, and prefabricated components for compliance with purchase orders and technical specifications.
  • Workmanship Surveillance: Monitor ongoing construction activities to ensure adherence to the approved Method Statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
  • Testing: Conduct or witness field tests (e.g., concrete slump, soil compaction, pressure tests) and ensure testing equipment is calibrated.
  • Documentation: Prepare daily Quality Control reports and maintain logs of inspection results. Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for defective work.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with the Site Engineer and Contractor’s team to clarify specifications and resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Punch List Management: Assist in the final handover process by identifying outstanding defects (punch list) and verifying their closure.
  • Standards: Ensure compliance with ISO standards, project contract requirements, and local building codes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a QC Inspector in construction or manufacturing.
  • Certification: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or relevant trade-specific certifications (e.g., AWS/CWI for welding, CSWIP) are highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical data sheets.
  • Tools: Proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) and test equipment.
