Job Summary:
The Purchase Manager oversees the tactical execution of the procurement strategy for a specific category or region. They manage a team of coordinators and clerks to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management: Manage the end-to-end procurement process for specific categories (e.g., raw materials, MRO, services).
  • Supplier Negotiation: Conduct negotiations with suppliers for pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise the Purchase Coordinators and Clerks, ensuring purchase orders are processed accurately and on time.
  • Sourcing: Identify and evaluate new suppliers, conduct RFQs/RFPs, and make supplier selection recommendations.
  • Inventory & Demand Alignment: Work with the stores and operations departments to align purchase plans with inventory levels and production demands.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve issues related to supplier quality, delivery delays, and invoice discrepancies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.
