ALAF Limited Tanzania is inviting applications from dynamic and results-oriented professionals for the position of Project Sales Officer based in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth and market expansion for ALAF Building Solutions by accelerating product penetration, generating new business opportunities, and strengthening relationships with key industry stakeholders. This role offers a rewarding career path for professionals seeking to build expertise in project sales, customer relationship management, and business development within the building and construction sector.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, engage, and drive sales of Light Gauge Steel Trussing products among targeted customers.
- Collaborate closely with architects, quantity surveyors, and structural engineers from the project design stage to generate enquiries and convert them into sales.
- Generate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from 2-D and 3-D drawings.
- Identify and create new business opportunities and solutions in emerging markets.
- Create and update SPANCO records on a daily basis.
- Develop and manage Building Solutions sales within both existing and new sales channels.
- Achieve monthly volume targets for Light Gauge Steel Trussing products, value-added products, Lifestile, Tekdek, Maxcover, and Structural Steel products.
- Track customer enquiries, convert them into orders, and ensure timely billing.
- Follow up on customer orders to ensure efficient processing and timely delivery.
- Ensure achievement of monthly collection targets.
- Prepare daily market visit reports covering payment collections, enquiries, won projects, and lost orders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, quantity surveyors, structural engineers, contractors, and key end-users.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams and business partners to develop new value propositions for targeted customers.
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for Building Solutions products and accessories.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with specialization in Quantity Surveying, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Technical Survey, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or Diploma in Sales and Marketing will be an added advantage.
- Professional registration with relevant Sales, Marketing, or Engineering bodies is desirable.
- Minimum of two (2) years of sales experience, preferably in the steel industry or building and construction materials sector.
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work extended hours when required.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results under pressure.
